Summary of November event

It was wonderful to see so many of you at our last event held Wednesday 18th of November at ANZ in Canary Wharf. If your calendar is anything like mine I know just how difficult it is to fit anything extra into your schedule over the holiday season. Thanks to you all for helping promote the network and helping us grow such a diverse network of women, I have been receiving an email a day lately from Kiwi's who have just arrived over here or are desperate to get networking, so chances are if you havent made it to an event for a while you will see new faces in January, which is always good!

Our evening started with getting to know some new people by introducing ourselves to those on our table and brainstorming by sharing our own top tips for networking and building relationships. One of the aims of this Network is to share ideas and help each other. I have consolidated these tips into a cheat sheet, which is attached.

Next we listened to Dallas Leigh-Hill with her 10 Commandments of Peak Performance. Dallas was an amazing speaker and her own personal experiences helped convey her message to us. I'm very much looking forward to reading Dallas's book once it's out as it sounds like she's interviewed a number of peak performers who have excelled in their field. Thank you Dallas!

Congratulations to Joanna Reesby who won our first door prize of a place at Dallas's next workshop in January. Our second door prize was won by Linda Cook which was kindly donated by New Zealand hair dresser Christa Loisel of Ena Salon. The package included a free cut, colour and manicure. Christa also donated a 30% voucher to all who attended on the night. Please help support Christa in building her London client base.

Kiwi Events And A Chance To Network
Keep an eye on the KEA, NZ Society, and The Royal Commonwealth Club's websites.
Also, Dallas Leigh-Hill will be holding a 1 day Peak Performance workshop on the 9th January - Please see the flyer attached.

Our Next Event
Due to the busy festive season we won't be holding a physical event in December. What we will be offering is the chance to get involved with the launch of our LinkedIn Group. Feedback from our first couple of events showed us that you want to hear more about the businesses we own and the type of work we all do and to help promote one another more.

Rather than each of you complete a profile to post on our website we have decided to use LinkedIn to help us all get connected. Over the next week we will send more information and also an invitation to join the LinkedIn Group. We would love to see you all join and also to forward this invitation to all other Kiwi women that you know of here in London who would like to tap into the network. You would be amazed at the business being generated via our events already, in the new year we are determined to grow our network even more and between events LinkedIn is a superb promotional and communication vehicle.
Our next physical event will be in late January with a theme of 'A Fresh Start'. We are in the process of putting together a very special extra 1 day event as many of you, like me, have commented that you would like to get your LinkedIn profile up and going or to have it working successfully for you - maybe to gain more clients, change jobs or industries or meet new people.

We are looking at putting together a photo shoot to help create that winning picture to help with your personal branding. Many of us (myself included) don't have the time to find a great photographer, make-up artist, hairdresser and stylist to organise this let alone the cost involved. We are in the intital stages of putting this together and have already secured a venue. So if you have any Kiwi connections, such as a Kiwi make up artist, clothes designer, personal stylist or image consultant please email Bronwen ASAP. Also if you have any complementary businesses - we want to hear from you. So if you are looking for a professional photo, whether it be for LinkedIn for email signatures or your own website at an affordable rate I will be sending out an announcement soon.
