Celebrating Our 8th Birthday In Style

FullSizeRender 4This year marks the 8th birthday of the New Zealand Business Women’s Network. To celebrate, over 70 members joined us for a Summer Party in Brixton on Tuesday 13th June. The theme of the evening was celebrating innovation in the New Zealand beverage industry.

Leading the way with innovation here in London is Volcano Coffee Works, who very kindly hosted us on the night in their fabulous roastery. Volcano have just launched their new Volcano at Home product range, the UK’s first bio-based 100% compostable, Nespresso-compatible coffee pods. A huge supporter of the network since the beginning, Emma Loisel and her team put on a night to remember.

They created two fabulously potent cocktails for the night – both a riff on the G&T, one of which included a shot of Volcano Coffee espresso – a surprising combination, but it definitely worked!

Beer on the night was supplied by newest brewery on the block, Coalition Brewing. Set up by three guys with a passion for beer – one of whom is a kiwi – their first product, Unity Lager, was just the ticket on a warm summer’s evening.

FullSizeRender 8Our friends at Karma Cola supplied us with Lemony Lemonade, Gingerella Ale and of course, their much-loved Karma Cola. The cans literally flew off the shelf!

It wasn’t all booze on the night (although of course it goes without saying that New Zealand wines were also flowing) – delicious canapes including some little treats from The Meringue Girls were enjoyed by everyone.

The NZBWN would like to extend special thanks to: Emma, Ruta and Sarah at Volcano; Matt at Coalition Brewing; and Plum at Karma Cola. We couldn’t have put on such a celebration without your support.

Huge thanks also go to the suppliers of our door prizes on the night: Volcano (one lucky winner went home with a Pod coffee machine, and all attendees left with a sleeve of Volcano at Home pods!), Pic’s Peanut Butter, Donna Hicks at Arbonne, the Dental Surgery and The Meringue Girls.

Finally, as always, this event couldn’t have happened without the support of the amazing volunteers who run this network – from the Events team through to the Media team who helped promote this event – thank you so much for all of your support.
