NZBWN Christmas Dinner

Written by Amber Trower.

Party2On Monday 28 November, around 40 volunteers from various teams within the network gathered at The Modern Pantry in Clerkenwell for dinner and some festive fun.

The evening was a celebration of what had been another successful year for the network and was a chance to thank all the invaluable volunteers who dedicate their time, expertise and energy to improving and expanding the NZBWN.

Bronwen Horten, Founder of the NZBWN, also shared her thoughts on the night - “we wanted to bring everyone together to give the opportunity to meet their peers in the network, as much of the support is provided from a distance or in smaller working groups”.

Party3Geoff Sewell from Incognito Artists – a New Zealander with an incredible voice – kicked the festivities off and got everyone up on their feet singing and clapping, before guests proceeded to enjoy a tasty two course meal designed especially by The Modern Pantry for the evening.

Dessert was also a special treat with Crosstown Doughnuts providing both dulce de leche and mince pie flavoured mini doughnuts.  Guests munched on these whilst listening to sublime carols sung by a trio of Ngati Ranana choir members.

The magical evening was filled with many surprises including secret santa gifts for each volunteer, kindly donated by friends of the network.  In addition, all volunteers took home a tote bag (provided by Ziggle-It, Holi and Volcano) stuffed full of goodies such as Donna Hicks Arbonne skincare samples, Ozone coffee, a CD from Incognito Artists, Libertine Blends sample tea bags and pineapple lumps courtesy of SANZA.

Special thanks to Anna Hansen and Dougal Spratt of The Modern Pantry as well as the following NZ businesses whose support made the event possible:
